A 35-year-old man was shot after robbers opened fire at a tavern in Mslasini, Everest Heights – KZN a short while ago (Saturday).
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received multiple calls from residents at approximately 22:23 requesting medical assistance for an individual who had been shot during a robbery. All available
Reaction Officers were dispatched to the scene and on arrival were informed that four gunmen entered the tavern, produced firearms and began firing shots.
They robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cash. As they were exiting, they shot a man in the arm and robbed him of his cellphone. The gunmen then fled the scene on foot. Several spent 9mm cartridges were recovered at the scene.
The injured man was stabilized on the scene before being transported to the hospital by ambulance.
