SAPS Gelvandale detectives are seeking communities assistance in tracing a 70-year-old Shauderville man who went missing on Friday night, 5/11.
According to police information, Essop Mahomed left a house in Gelvandale in his metallic gold Toyota Corolla, registration number FRT457EC. He never returned home. His vehicle was recovered, abandoned this afternoon, 7/11 at the Gamtoos River. It seems that he had run out of petrol and a tyre was also punctured.
Mr. Mahomed suffers from Alzheimer’s and could have wandered off. A search party comprising of family, friends, and police are out looking for him. Police will continue with the search tomorrow morning, 8/11.
