Vigilant members of SAPS Hekpoort arrested a 31-year-old man on Monday, 8 November 2021, who faces a charge of stock theft.
According to a preliminary report, the SAPS members were conducting a routine stop-and-search in the area and pulled over a white bakkie loaded with goats. Further investigation revealed that the goats belong to a farmer from Rustenburg who reported a case of stock theft earlier at SAPS Rustenburg. The driver of the bakkie was then subsequently arrested and the 25 goats were recovered.
