Just before 15h00 Emer-G-Med and Blue Security were called to the banks of the Umgeni River near Riverside Road after a pedestrian noticed a body.
Closer inspection confirmed it to be a male approximately thirty years old. Paramedics assessed the man and confirmed him to be dead.
The cause of death is believed to be a stab wound however the South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigations accordingly.
