SAPS George seeks info on wanted suspects involved in armed robbery

George SAPS has opened an Armed Robbery following an incident earlier this morning, Monday 15 November 2021 just after 11:00 in Mitchell Street, George whereby a substantial amount of cash has been taken and an employee has been shot and wounded in his leg.

Circumstances around the incident were three (3) armed suspects accosted two employees of a financial business in Mitchell Street, George, are under investigation.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the two employees withdrew a large amount of cash for their business, a George-based finance business. Shortly after their return to their business, they were accosted by the three assailants and threatened with a firearm. After taking the cash from the rear seat of the vehicle, one of the suspects shot a 27-year-old employee in his leg. He was transported to a local hospital via ambulance in a stable condition.

The suspects then fled from the scene in a silver-colored sedan vehicle that is yet to be identified.

Forensic experts are still on the scene, combing for any clues that can assist the investigation officer.
