Vehicle shot as couple return home from a funeral in Oakford

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to Oakford near Verulam, KZN after a motorist reported shots being fired at his vehicle.

On arrival of Reaction Officers, it was established that the man and his wife were returning home from a funeral when he heard the quarter glass on his Subaru Forester shatter. He sped off and drove to his home approximately 2 kilometers away from where the incident occurred.

Upon inspection of the vehicle, a projectile appeared to have struck a metal beading above the glass. The right front tyre was also punctured. The victim believed that the shots were fired from the cane field along Oakford Road shortly after he crossed the bridge.

The couple was not injured.
