The Provincial Detective Organized Crime, Captain Alfons Kokonyana based at Thabo Mofutsanyana District in Phuthaditjhaba together with Harrismith Crime Prevention have successfully arrested two suspects at Christina Farm following a house robbery that took place on a farm near Harrismith.
It is alleged that on 11 January 2022 at about 16:15 the 77-year-old woman was on her farm when she heard the water running outside the house, she went to inspect and found that it was a geyser and went back into the house inside her bedroom. She came out of the bedroom again and was surprised by a suspect who was in possession of a knife, demanded firearms and cash. The suspect allegedly robbed her liquor bottles and fled the scene without any harm. She gained entry through the window. A case of house robbery is being investigated.
The two suspects aged 22 from Christina Farm district Harrismith were found in possession of liquor, a bag, and a wallet that belonged to the complainant together with a knife. They have been charged with house robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon and are expected to appear before Harrismith Magistrate court on Friday, 14 January 2022.
