23-Year-old Mthobisi Ngcobo was kidnapped from the Verulam CBD on Monday afternoon.
When interviewed by Officers from Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) a vendor working in the Verulam Bus Rank confirmed that five (5) armed men were seen forcing Ngcobo into a silver/grey Toyota Etios at gunpoint. The vendor recorded the registration plates.
Reaction Officers initially believed that the vehicle belong to Law Enforcement, however, after ownership was traced it was found to be privately owned. Further details of the vehicle are being withheld. The matter has been reported with reference no 759/02/2022 at Verulam SAPS.
Mthobisi Mgcobo is unemployed & resides in Cottonlands in Kwazulu Natal. He is an ex-pupil of Mt View Secondary School. He is medium in height, fair in complexion, and has no facial hair. Ngcobo has tattoos on both his arms with the words “Mthobisi” and “Buhle” on each hand & stars and feet inked alongside. At the time of his disappearance, he was attired in a pair of black jeans, a green jacket, and a grey/black size seven (7) Diesel takkies.
