On Thursday, 10 February 2022 a Provincial Liquor Officer from the office of Firearm, Liquor and Second-Hand Goods (FLASH) together with SAPS Booysens arrested a woman in Ormonde for selling liquor without a valid license, a contravention of the Liquor Act 59 of 2003.
According to a preliminary report the police received a complaint of peace disturbance and people drinking liquor outside of premises in Ormonde. The SAPS member responded to the complaint and proceeded to the address.
Further investigation revealed that liquor is being sold and consumed at these premises. Gauteng Liquor Board verified that the license-produced to the SAPS members is fraudulent.
The liquor was subsequently seized and the woman was arrested.
