SA Guide Dogs Association for the Blind is excited to announce its Annual Market Fundraising Event that will be held on Sunday 27 February 2022 on the premises of the Association. The Theme for this year’s market is Carnival and promises to entertain young and old.
The purpose of this event is to raise much-needed funds to continue serving the visually and physically disabled in our great country with the help of the SA Guide Dogs Association. At this year’s market, the Association is pulling out all the stops to make sure that this event is a memorable and profitable one so that we can continue with the life-changing services offered.
“We have a jam-packed programme for the day, filled with exciting activities. Our puppies in training are practicing hard to put their best paw forward on the day. Kennel staff are gearing up to educate participants during a tour of our kennels whilst a very exciting demonstration from our Assistance Dogs awaits spectators in the Arena.
“Due to popular demand we will have more adrenaline pumping dog-races throughout the day. This promises to add lots of fun and laughter to the day” says Yolande van Rooyen, Events Manager for the Association.
The Orientation and Mobility team prepared entertaining and educational activities where visitors will be encouraged and challenged to step out of their comfort zone and into the shoes of a visually impaired person.
There is also a lot more happening on the day as we spread some Carnival cheer. The kids zone promises for endless fun and a special guest will make an appearance to ensure a fun filled day.
Visitors can enjoy all the entertainment while sipping on something cold at our Beer Garden. Whilst indulging on some refreshments from our beer garden, tea garden or various other scrumptious food vendors, visitors can view the entertainment in the arena.
There will be a wide variety of stalls ranging from Unique pastries, African Art, Clothing and Jewelry for young and old, cookies, rusks, pickled items and LOTS more! Covid protocols will be followed as everyone’s safety is important
We appeal to the public to support us in our ongoing mission to create more freedom and independence for the visually and physically disabled.
