On Thursday, 03 March 2022 members of SAPS Soshanguve arrested a 76-year-old man and recovered an unlicensed firearm with ammunition following a domestic violence complaint.
A preliminary report suggests the SAPS members were out on a routine Crime Prevention patrol when they received a complaint of domestic violence in progress. The members proceeded to the address and interviewed the elderly couple.
Further investigation revealed that the elderly man is in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Addressing the proliferation of domestic violence remains a top priority for police in Gauteng.
