Livestock recovered during an operation by Amajuba Anti-Stock Theft Unit

On 03 March 2022 until the early hours of 04 March 2022, an operation was carried out by the Amajuba Anti-Stock Theft Unit as they were following up on information about 30 goats that were stolen.

The team proceeded to Ballangiech which is under the Newcastle policing area. A total of our goats were found hidden inside an abandoned rondavel. The search continued in the same area and they spotted goats being guarded by a group of men. The men fled upon noticing the police. A total of 23 goats were seized by police.

All 27 recovered livestock were taken to a pound pending the identification from the lawful owners. The Stock Theft Unit is appealing to stock owners who lost their goats to visit the Dannhauser Municipality Pound or contact Sergeant Lephoto on 079 500 0718.
