A 40-year-old alleged drug dealer is expected to appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court today. On 06 March 2022, at 20:00, the Pietermaritzburg K9 Unit received information of a white vehicle at Masukwana Street in Pietermaritzburg that was dealing drugs.
They proceeded to the location and witnessed a group of people who were near the vehicle fleeing.
Police searched the vehicle and found cash as well as heroin capsules inside. The vehicle was impounded for further investigation. The recovered drugs are valued at R30 000-00. On 07 March 2022, the owner of the vehicle called the police offering them a bribe of R60 000.
An appointment was set at Dales Park where the exchange was going to take place. The 40-year-old woman was arrested and charged for dealing drugs and bribery.
