Illegal firearm and stolen items worth more than R200 000 seized during raid.

Members of Frances Baard Crime intelligence, Kimberley K9 and Kimberley Flying Squad apprehended and arrested a 45-year-old male on Friday, 18 March 2022.

The team responded to information of possible drug dealing at a house in Maphutha Street in Galeshewe and obtained a search warrant and raided the said house.

A firearm, ammunition and one magazine were found. Ninety two (92) cellphones with an estimated value of R200 000 as well as dagga were also confiscated.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Galeshewe Magistrate’s Court soon, on a charges of possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition as well as possession of stolen property.

The Galeshewe Station Commander, Brigadier Belinda Rikhotso lauded the SAPS members for the meticulous and professional search and seizure that led to the arrest and recovery of suspected stolen property.
