The sting operation yielded great success and 5 adult male suspects were arrested for dealing in drugs, illegal possession of drugs, and alcohol.
On Friday, 8 April 2022 at about 2 am the police raided 8 houses suspected of dealing drugs and arrested 5 suspects at different venues.
Police confiscated 60 full, 18 half, and 39 quarter Mandrax tablets, 21 tik straws, and 38 dagga stop with an approximate street value of R10 000.
Police seized twelve cases of 750ml black label, twelve 5 liters boxes of Rain Dance, and Eight 5 liters Rock wine.
Police also confiscated an undisclosed amount of cash and white VW Polo that was allegedly utilized in the commission of a crime.
The Acting Cluster Commander for Namakwa, Col Schalk Andrews commended SAPS members from Fraserburg Sutherland, Williston with the assistance of Calvinia K9 and Crime Intelligence for a well-planned and executed operation.
