Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) has attended to eight Gang Fights at Schools on the North Coast this week.
Earlier today (Friday) two gangs clashed at a high school in Brindhaven – Verulam. Reaction Officers arrived on scene and found that both gang members were made up of students and school leavers. One student removed a 9mm pistol whilst being pursued on foot by Reaction Officers in Brindhaven – KZN. He fled before being apprehended. Several others produced knives during the fight. When interviewed by Reaction Officers a student confirmed that a rival gang member was to be killed outside the high school this afternoon. The gang fled upon noticing approaching First Responders.
Several students are dealing drugs on school premises and some of these gangs fights are related to a turf war. Revenge attacks, relationships & financial disputes are also blamed.
No criminal cases were registered.
