During the early hours of this morning, the Medi Response search and rescue division responded to Verulam for reports of persons in distress.
On arrival of crews, five adults, two children, and two dogs were identified as stranded on the rooftop of a house. Teams sprang into action and established systems to affect a rescue.
All persons, and their dogs, were brought safely to dry land where they were assessed by paramedics.
Rescues and incidents across the province are ongoing as teams battle to reach all places where they are needed.
