The South African Police Service in Swartkops opened an inquest following the tragic drowning of a 5-year-old boy on Saturday, 14 May 2022, in Bluewater Bay, Gqeberha.
*Never leave a young child unattended near water and never make a child responsible for another child – not even for five minutes.
*Teach children to always ask permission to go near water.
*A swimming pool should be fenced or pool covers should not be used as a substitute for a fence.
