Reaction Officers are currently (Wednesday, 08:28) searching for 30 year old Thobekile Shandu who was allegedly kidnapped by her boyfriend from a bus stop in Osindisweni – KZN this morning.
Shandu’s younger brothers arrived at RUSA offices requesting assistance after they were informed by the community that their sister was being assaulted at a bus stop near their home. They proceeded to the bus stop however Shandu and her boyfriend could not be located. Her hat was found on the floor.
According to her brothers, Shandu’s boyfriend has a history of violence. She has in the past served a protection order against him, however he continued to harass her. Last night (Tuesday) she was forced to stay at a friend’s house after her boyfriend arrived unannounced at her residence and insisted that she return with him to his house. She declined his offer. Her brothers believe that the man thereafter plotted to kidnap her this morning. Her brothers were unable to provide a photograph of their sister.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) are in the area conducting a search for the missing farm employee.
