The Tshwane Metro Police Tactical unit members with other law enforcement officials conducted an operation regarding information received about a suspect who was in possession of a hijacked vehicle.
The vehicle, a Toyota quest was reported hijacked in Sunnyside. The officers followed up on information in Olievenhoubosh where the vehicle was spotted.
More information led the officers to Jeppestown where the vehicle was found at a residence with one suspect. The vehicle was searched, and one firearm was found under eath the driver’s seat
The male suspect was arrested for Possession of a hijacked vehicle and an unlicensed firearm, the vehicle was confirmed hijacked in Sunnyside.
Upon further questioning, the suspect revealed that he works for another male suspect who is already being sought by police for crimes that include vehicle theft.
The suspect is said to be from Swaziland and he smuggles the stolen vehicles across the borders
