A 31-year-old male was seriously injured after he was run over by a minibus taxi on Old Main Road near the cemetery in Ottawa – KZN this morning (Saturday).
A passing motorist contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at 08:04 requesting assistance for the pedestrian who was lying in the centre of the road. On arrival, RUSA Medics stabilised the seriously injured man before transporting to hospital. He was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol however this could not be immediately confirmed.
The driver of the white Toyota Quantum taxi informed Reaction Officers that the pedestrian suddenly ran onto the road when he was run over.
