Today saw the first Greenwood Park SAPS Crime Awareness Day being held at the Blackburn Road grounds in Parkhill.
Numerous role players linked to the Greenwood Park policing area were invited to showcase their teams and a joyous family day was had by all.
Emer-G-Med joined our security partners Blue Security in the area as well as Netcare911 and took part in a demonstration showcasing how multidisciplinary teams operate on the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision.
A volunteer patient was placed into a wrecked vehicle which was donated by Nettow, and paramedics responded to the scene as if it were a real life event.
Ethekwini Fire and Rescue services used specialized hydraulic equipment including the Jaws-of-life to cut the patient free, demonstrating their talents to the crowd whilst paramedics carefully extricated the young lady to an awaiting ambulance.
Thank you to all the various role players who took part and who made the event possible.
See you again next year!
