One Injured In Fire: Mhlasini – KZN

One person was hospitalised after he sustained burns to his back and arm during a fire that destroyed six (6) informal homes in Mhlasini – KZN this morning (Friday).

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene after receiving multiple calls from residents reporting the fire. On arrival at approximately 03:24, Reaction Officers discovered the informal homes completely engulfed in flames.

A 26-year-old man sustained burns to his right arm and back. He was treated on scene for his injuries and transported to a medical facility by ambulance. He explained that he was asleep in his house when he was alerted to the fire by his brother. The blaze was extinguished by the Ethekwini Fire & Rescue Services.

The cause of the fire was not immediately established.
