The Department of Transport is holding its first Departmental Strategic Planning Session for the period 2023/24 – 2025/26 over an intensive three-day period. Transport MEC Xolile Nqatha had stern yet encouraging words saying the strategic planning session comes at a time when the department is faced with a lot of issues.

“This strategic planning session comes at a time when we should be finding ways around these issues, it’s at a time when we are getting closer to the festive season where traffic law enforcement will be in the spotlight. This session is a time to do all the necessary plans,”

“This is a time to renew the movement and government, we need to safeguard the rule of law and accountability mechanisms, so good governance is non-negotiable and putting people first,” Nqatha said.

Nqatha also spoke of the importance of capacitating the department in all spheres while safeguarding the budget to make it corruption free.
