Shots were fired as three suspects fled the scene of a home invasion in B Section, Parkgate – KZN.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to a residence after receiving reports of a home invasion. Reaction Officers arrived on the scene and were informed that three suspects broke a window, pointed firearms at the family, and instructed them to unlock the door.

Once inside, the robbers ransacked the residence and stole a TV, cash, clothing, and shoes. One of the victims was pistol-whipped. The suspects loaded the stolen goods into an awaiting white Nissan Almera (registration unknown).

They began firing shots after residents and members of the local neighborhood watch started approaching the property. The suspects then sped off in an unknown direction.

A 9mm round was recovered at the scene.
