A suspect linked to a house robbery was arrested in Waterloo – KZN earlier this morning (Saturday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to Mhkonto Road at approximately 01:52 after receiving reports of a home invasion. On arrival, it was established that two men in a silver VW Polo had entered the residence and produced firearms. The suspects robbed the victims of their valuables and a 40 inch TV before they sped off in their getaway vehicle.
Reaction Officers and members of the Verulam SAPS who were attending to the scene received information that the suspects vehicle was spotted in the area. First Responders acting on the information proceeded to a residence and located the vehicle in the yard. Officers approached the home and confronted a male. The stolen TV was recovered in his possession.
He was placed under arrest and detained at the Verulam SAPS.
