Three people have been killed and three other seriously injured in a shooting incident on Market Road in the Market area just before 11h30 on Sunday morning.
ALS Paramedic Medical Services arrived on the scene to find SAPS already in attendance. A quick survey of the scene was conducted and immediately more ambulances as well as Advanced Life Support Paramedics were dispatched to the scene. Three people including two security guards were found with fatal gunshot wounds and despite Advanced Life Support Paramedics attempts to resuscitate them there was nothing more Paramedics could do for them and they were declared deceased on the scene. Another three people including a security guard and a SAPS Member sustained serious gunshot wounds and was stabilized on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to a nearby Durban hospital for the further treatment that they required. scene
At this stage the events leading up to the incident are unknown however SAPS and Metro Police are on the scene and will be investigating further.
