A house on Sapphire Road in Everest Heights – KZN was broken into by two suspects yesterday afternoon (Saturday).
The family returned home when they discovered the burglars in their home. The suspects fled through a bush via the rear of the property while being pursued by a tenant.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the residence at approximately 20:31. On arrival, it was confirmed that forced entry was gained into the home and jewellery was stolen from a room that was ransacked. While gathering information, Reaction Officers were informed that the tenant who was pursuit of the suspects was run over on Todd Street in the vicinity of Oaklands – KZN.
He was treated on scene by an off duty Paramedic and transported privately to hospital.
