One male suspect was arrested by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) IIOC Undercover Reaction Unit for common robbery in Hillbrow.
On Friday, 02 December 2022, officers received a complaint about suspects who were busy robbing members of the public at Peterson and Quartz Street, next to Vannin Court in Hillbrow.
Upon arrival, officers observed and saw a male strangling another male from behind, and robbing him of his cellphone.
Officers swiftly responded and apprehended the suspect. The victim approached the officers and identified the suspect as the one who had robbed him and also identified the cellphone as his.
The suspect was arrested and detained at Hillbrow SAPS. He will likely appear in court soon.
