Eastern Cape Department of Transport is mourning the loss of one its traffic officers

The Eastern Cape Department of Transport is mourning the loss of one its traffic officers, Provincial Inspector Nokuthula Cembi. Officer Cembi who was stationed at Phakade Traffic Station in Mt Ayliff passed on, on December 26th, 2022.

Officer Cembi had been in the traffic law enforcement service for the past 13 years, having joined the traffic fraternity in November 2009. She was one of the shining lights in the male dominated traffic law enforcement, executing her duties with firmness and finesse that mainly a woman can master.

Transport MEC, Xolile Nqatha has extended his sincere word of condolence to the family of the departed officer.

“We lost Officer Cembi at a critical time when most of our focus is on saving lives during this busy Festive Season. We wish to salute her and express our deepest gratitude for the 13 years of dedication and loyalty to her ought. She had been one of our trusted ground forces in traffic law enforcement. May her family find comfort in the knowledge that she was an assert not only to them but also the province, their loss is also our loss,” said MEC Nqatha.
