Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene where the man was shot.
On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered the body of a man lying in a prone position in the vicinity of the taxi rank.
He sustained a gunshot wound to his head and showed no signs of life.
The motive for the murder was not immediately known.
