An unidentified man was fatally injured after he was stabbed in the throat during a robbery on Todd Street in the Verulam CBD – KZN.
A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol at approximately 17:44 when he noticed a man on the pavement lying in a pool of blood. The Reaction Officer immediately requested backup and medical assistance. On arrival, Medics examined the individual and found that he sustained a single stab wound to his throat.
According to witnesses, the victim was confronted by two men outside a general dealer on the corner of Wick & Todd Street. One of the suspects deprived him of his cell phone. The victim pursued the suspects when he was stabbed.
The robbers thereafter fled on foot in an unknown direction.
