A 71-year-old female was manhandled and her 21-year-old grandson was bound during a home invasion on Vanrova Road in Vanrova – KZN this morning (Thursday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the property at approximately 07:57. On arrival, the elderly female informed Reaction Officers that four suspects entered their residence through an unlocked door. Three of the robbers were armed with firearms.
They grabbed the woman and threw her onto the couch before they attempted to gag her. Her grandson was forced into a bedroom where they bound his hands with the cable from an iron.
The robbers stole a TV, jewellery, cellphones and cash. They were in the process of stealing a Toyota Hilux bakkie that was parked in the yard when the alarm activated. The suspects abandoned the TV in the bakkie and fled on foot with the remaining stolen goods.
The victims were not injured.
