Life Rosepark Hospital recognised for clinical excellence in patient care

Life Rosepark Hospital in Bloemfontein, is proud to be acknowledged in the recent Discovery Health Hospital Care Rating index, which recognises private hospitals across South Africa against a range of clinical outcomes and operational efficiency criteria.

“We welcome acknowledgements such as this which highlights the exceptional work we are doing to drive our culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety, says Hospital Manager, Hein Rossouw.

Dr Louis Kathan, Chief Medical Officer, Life Healthcare – South Africa says that for the past 20 years, Life Healthcare has set performance and quality standards and regularly measured the performance of its hospitals against benchmarks to ensure enhanced care and customer experience.

“Our 10-year Quality Report (2010-2020) sets out the framework that underpins the Life Healthcare quality-improvement journey. The success of this approach is borne out by the continuous improvement in patient satisfaction, patient safety and clinical-quality measures and outcomes over the past decade,” says Dr Kathan. “We are pleased to have substantially improved Life Healthcare’s quality outcomes since 2010.”

“We believe we impact and improve lives every day through our quality measures. We have consistent, robust initiatives that include quality scorecards and quality-measurement data and monitoring. We capture patient feedback at multiple points of the patient journey and have numerous programmes supporting our commitment to a positive patient experience.”

Dr Kathan says Life Healthcare views quality care as a major long-term differentiating factor. Other Life Healthcare initiatives to support quality outcomes include an established clinical governance framework and quality management system (QMS).

“We are entrusted with the lives of our patients and their loved ones on a daily basis. It is our responsibility to provide them with the highest quality of care,” concludes Dr Kathan. “This is why quality is embedded as a pillar of the Life Healthcare Group strategy.”
