Drugs nabbed during national shutdown operation

On Monday, 20 March 2023 a Vehicle Check Point was conducted on the Louisvaleweg road in Upington when a VW Polo passed through with one occupant.

The vehicle was searched and members found mandrax tablets in the vehicle with an estimated value of R101 200-00 stashed in the vehicle.

The 43-year-old driver was arrested and charged with dealing drugs and will be appearing in court soon.

As duties continued, additional information was received about a vehicle allegedly transporting drugs to Upington.

A follow-up was done by the members on these allegations and a dagga with the value of R 214 450-00 was found abandoned a few kilometers out of town, however, there was no arrest.
