The Simola Hillclimb is just over a month away and MasterDrive looks forward to the upcoming event. This is because they are adding something exciting to the plans for the Hillclimb this year that will help a young South African kickstart their motorsport career.
The CEO of MasterDrive, Eugene Herbert, says the company will be entering two vehicles into this years’ Hillclimb with the support of Castrol. “One of the vehicles will be driven by a young South African from a previously disadvantaged background, after an intensive selection process. Participating in the Hillclimb is not just about the love of motorsport but sharing that love with an aspiring young driver who would not ordinarily have such an opportunity.

The selection process is well underway and the final driver was selected today. “Round one of eliminations took place in March, and the top five drivers for the next round were selected by a panel of well-known names in the industry.
In our third year being part of the event, MasterDrive looks forward to taking the next step in the Simola Hillclimb while simultaneously uplifting an aspiring driver. “We are creating a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that can help young drivers take a step in the right direction in their driving career,” says Herbert.
