Provincial prayer day at the Old Peter Mokaba stadium

The provincial prayer is today at the Old Peter Mokaba stadium. In his address, the Premier Mr Stanley Chupu Mathabatha, mentioned that today is a special day prepared to pray for our province. The Premier together with the South African council of churches discussed the “state of femicide and GBV that has become a pandemic. Hence we felt that there is a need to collapse in this manner and seek divine intervention from God of our forefathers. We do this in order to strengthen the voice of society through this social compact.

With GBV, road accidents, drugs and alcohol abuse being the leading cause of deaths, that is why we say enough is enough! These deaths rob families from their loved ones. We require resilience, agilence and prayer if we are to overcome them!
