The District Commissioner of Tshwane, Major General Nengovhela has launched the #TraditionalPolicingConcept in the Tshwane District.
The traditional houses of the Amandebele Ba Lebelo Traditional Council in Hammanskraal, under the leadership of Kgosi Kekana and Amandebele Ndzundza Sokhulumi Traditional Authority in Bronkhorstspruit, under the leadership of Kgosi Nkosi, Tshwane formed part of the launch.
In his address, Major-General Nengovhela emphasized that all citizens must be accommodated and traditional councils should assist with policing. The District Commissioner emphasised that traditional customs and values be respected but the rule of law must be upheld. Mutual respect must be created between the SAPS and the traditional houses to build a strong partnership to prevent crime in their respected areas.
Each traditional council received a designated Police vehicle with members to police the area of the Traditional councils.
