Allegations Of Infidelity Leads To Suicide: Waterloo – KZN

A 24-year-old man ended his life after he believed that his partner was guilty of infidelity.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to an informal home on Amaqhawe Road in Phase 6, Waterloo – KZN after the deceased’s sister discovered him hanging from an electrical cord during a wellness check.

On arrival at approximately 08:01, Reaction Officers met with the man’s sister, who stated that her brother had visited her this morning (Saturday). He informed her that he suspected his girlfriend of having an affair. He thereafter returned to his room next door.

His sister discovered the door to his room locked after she decided to conduct a wellness check an hour later. She forced open the door with a spade and discovered her brother hanging from a wooden rafter.

The deceased’s girlfriend arrived on scene shortly thereafter. She was confronted by her boyfriend’s sister and denied the allegations levied against her. She confirmed that they had been arguing this morning and left the home they shared. The girlfriend did not provide details of the argument.

A case of suicide is being investigated.
