A man believed to be in his twenties was killed after he was run over on the north bound lane of the R102 between Ottawa and Verulam – KZN last night (Saturday).
A passerby contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 20:21 requesting assistance for the unresponsive pedestrian. On arrival, RUSA Members discovered that the man had been fatally injured in the accident. According to the driver of a white Isuzu bakkie, the pedestrian attempted to flee across the road when his vehicle struck him.
The driver of the bakkie was not injured.
