59-Year-old suspected pangolin dealer arrested in Gravelotte outside Tzaneen following a tip-off

Poaching and illegal trade contribute directly to the extinction of many animal species.

Collaborative efforts by the SAPS and the DPCI, Hawks to curb the scourge of wildlife trafficking recently secured success with the arrest of a 59-year-old suspected pangolin dealer in Gravelotte outside Tzaneen on Wednesday, 17 May 2023, following a tip-off.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Namakgale Magistrate Court today to face charges relating to illegal dealing in endangered species (pangolin).
