The continuous price hike has severely impacted our communities, making the poor even poorer. This situation has a damaging effect on the future generation, with parents struggling to make ends meet on their meager salaries. Pensioners, too, face insufficient funds for survival.
The inability of parents to afford school clothing for their children is a challenge to their children’s education. Without proper attire, these affected children are unable to attend school, further compounded by peer pressure and other issues affecting their lives.
Gift of the Givers team received a request to support 30 students from underprivileged homes in Jerico Junior Secondary School, KZN. PepsiCo generously sponsored uniforms for these students, including 13 female uniforms and 17 male uniforms.
