Three suspects, David Terry (24), Simanga Maphanga (34) and Happy Sgauke (39) were, again remanded in custody by the Graskop Magistrate’s Court today, 15 June 2023 following their appearance for a spate of house breaking cases in the area of Graskop.
According to information, on 09 June 2023, police in Graskop arrested the three suspects who are believed to have been terrorising the community since the winter season began.
The trio were allegedly involved in a string of burglaries and thefts in residential and business premises.
The suspects were found with suspected stolen electrical appliances including two plasma TV sets, two car batteries, one Red Ryobi Generator, one Logik Kettle, two side lamps and a duvet.
As police continued with their investigation, on 11 June 2023, they found other stolen items that include two subwoofers, two Hybrid black speakers’ box and one extension cord.
The suspects will appear again on Monday, 19 June 2023, for other similar cases of house breaking and theft that they are believed to be involved in prior to their arrest.
The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has used this opportunity to reassure residents that the Police will continue to work hard to ensure that the inhabitants as well as their properties are safe and this is evident by the arrests made by the police members in Graskop.
