Just after 2 am this morning, our CCTV picked up suspicious activity for three suspects on 14th Street Menlo Park. Our CCTV operator immediately dispatched vehicles. On arrival, the team searched for the suspects and explored the surrounding streets.
Our officer caught one suspect with a backpack jumping from 14th Street to Thomas Edison Street. The team suspected that the male was attempting to steal cables. The other two suspects fled, and we discovered that one of the electric boxes on 14th Street stood open.
Our Monitoring Centre contacted SAPS, and they arrived on the scene from the Brooklyn police station. The suspect was searched for materials and tools, but nothing was found on him-great work by our team, and well done in capturing this suspect.
