No injuries were reported after three men robbed a Security Officer on Laura Street in the Tongaat CBD – KZN a short while ago (Thursday).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre received a call of a Cash In Transit robbery in progress at approximately 16:23. The caller was unable to provide any further details.
Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and on arrival established that three armed men confronted a Security Officer in a passage as he exited a supermarket. The suspects deprived him of two cash boxes containing an undisclosed amount of money and his firearm. They then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
It could not be established if their getaway vehicle was parked on Gopalall Hurbans Road.
