Police arrest suspects with drugs, stolen property and ammunition

An intelligence driven operation conducted by Steenberg Crime Prevention Unit landed two suspects behind bars for the possession of drugs, presumed stolen property and ammunition.

The members followed up information they received of drugs and stolen property at an address in Military Road, Kirstenhof last night, and searched the premises. While searching the house, the members found 60 mandrax tablets, 78,43 grams of crystal meth, an imitation firearm, 14 9mm rounds of ammunition and eight hand radios with two chargers and an undisclosed amount of cash. The two suspects aged 40and 41 were arrested and detained at Kirstenhof SAPS.

They will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ court once they have been charged.

In an unrelated intervention members of Woodstock police arrested an adult male for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Victoria Road, Woodstock on Monday, 26 June 2023. The members were busy with stop and search operations in the area to combat robberies. While searching the suspect they found a 9mm pistol in his possession.

Once charged he will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ court on the mentioned charge.
