Two suspects to appear in court for drugs and liquor in Lwandle

Two males aged 36 and 37 are scheduled to appear in the Strand Magistrates court this morning, 19 July 2023, for dealing in drugs and liquor.

Yesterday, 18 July 2023, members of Operation Restore was deployed in Lwandle policing precinct when they received a tip-off from a community member about criminal activities taking place at a shop situated in Ralarala Street, Lwandle. The members pounced on the identified premise and ensued with a search. They found mandrax, cocaine, dagga, crystal meth and liquor hidden inside the shop.

They enquired about the liquor license but the two suspects could not produce such. The suspects were then arrested on the mentioned charges.

In an unrelated matter on Tuesday, 18 July 2023 at about 15:30, police members received information about firearm that are being stored at a premises in Leipolt Avenue, Roodewal, Worcester.

The information was followed up by members of Worcester SAPS and the Crime Prevention Unit who executed a search warrant at the identified address. One 9mm Baretta Pistol, with serial number filed off, two 9mm rounds and three mandrax tablets were seized. A 27-year-old male was arrested and detained.
