Fidelity Services Group Durban team apprehended a suspect involved in a break-in at Johannes Inkhosi Street in Durban Central.
In the early morning hours at 4am, the suspects forced open the front metal gate and the front door and cut the trellidor in the storeroom, gaining entry into the property.
A senior officer managed to arrest one suspect outside the shop who had a toy firearm. The apprehended suspect stated that he did not work alone and came with other suspects who stole chairs and loaded them in a van, quickly departing when they saw an armed response arriving.
Saps were notified.
