Illegal mining in the Riverlea area in Johannesburg

Bringing illegal mining to its knees one day at a time. Gauteng police together with Special forces of the SAPS have made great strides since their deployment to the Riverlea area in Johannesburg.

Over 100 illegal miners have been arrested so far. South African Police Service top brass led by Police Minister, General Bheki Cele are conducting a walk about in the area where ZamaZamas have been arrested and holes used to gain entry into disused mines are closed.
