The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct Officers, arrested an African male suspect aged 33 for malicious damage to property in the Daveyton area, and conducted a by-laws enforcement operation, in the Clovedene and Putfontein area.
At Lembe Street in Daveyton, EMPD Officers arrested a 33-year-old male suspect who was sought for arrest, for a case of malicious damage to property case opened at the Daveyton police station. The suspect, who was located and arrested without any resistance, allegedly scratched the vehicle of the complainant which was parked in the yard with a trolley when passing. The suspect was arrested and detained at the Daveyton police station and will soon appear at the Daveyton Magistrate Court.
Meanwhile, the officers conducted a by-laws operation at Putfontein Road and Mediterranean Road where illegal traders who did not produce trading permits although previously instructed to obtain permits, had various stock such as clothes and toilet rolls worth one thousand two hundred Rands (R1200), confiscated.
At the Vlei and Pretoria Road intersection, there was illegal parking of trucks, and all the drivers were issued with Section 56 notices to appear in court. Lastly, on Pretoria and Clovedene Road, the officers received a complaint about illegal traders and on their arrival, the officers found multiple traders who were issued with notices and instructed to apply for trading permits.
The EMPD will continue to enforce municipal by-laws and follow up with previously warned transgressors to ensure that by-laws are adhered to.
